IECA Executive Director, Terry Maloy, Announces Retirement

Iowa Extension Council Association Executive Director Terry Maloy announced his retirement effective April 30, 2020.
Maloy was hTerry Maloyired as executive director in 2012 after serving on the IECA board of directors representing Region 19 in southern Iowa for several years. He is a current member of Monroe County Council.
During his tenure as executive director, Maloy moved the organization forward by always advocating for county extension councils. Under his vision, IECA retained legal counsel for its members, added the Employee Assistance Program for county extension employees, and developed a comprehensive, affordable background screening program for county employees and volunteers.
Maloy has represented the interests of county extension councils at the ISU Extension and Outreach leadership meetings, on statewide committees, as well as employee search committees. He has provided a voice for extension council members by advocating for resources, training, and input opportunities.
"Terry has been a champion for Iowa extension councils during his role as executive director. He has kept us connected and brought forth a wide variety of great resources and ideas to help serve Iowa's counties, council members and Extension staff,” said Jamie David, IECA president-elect. 

“Terry's dedication to Extension and Outreach and to the Iowa Extension Council Association is richly appreciated and we hope for the best for him in retirement," said IECA president Michael Ryan.
Applications are now being accepted for the executive director position. Closing date is May 1, 2020.
